Cystic fibrosis support through lived experience

Hi. I’m Pete.

For most of our lives, people like me were told not to plan for the future. Not to expect long-term relationships. Not to expect to have kids. The whole system was built around survival, not possibility.

Things have changed. We’re living longer now. But the support systems never caught up.

So I started the Filotimo Foundation. Everything we’ve built comes from real, shared experience and from seeing how broken the system still is for adults with CF.

We’re here to close that gap. We’re here to give people with CF a real shot at a full life.

Welcome. I’m really glad you’re here.

What Filotimo means

Filotimo (fee-LOH-tee-moh) is a Greek word without a direct translation. It means to give without expecting anything in return.

Today’s adults with cystic fibrosis are living a life they never expected to have. Modern medicine has extended lifespans, but support systems have not caught up.

Filotimo bridges the gap.

What’s with the eye?

The mati, or evil eye, is a form of protection. It offers peace and a sense of security. Similarly, Filotimo exists to protect adults with cystic fibrosis.
