In 2025, Filotimo expanded from a small founding vision into a national network of care.

Why Filotimo Foundation Exists
The Filotimo Foundation was founded by Pete Proimos, diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at seven months old.
For generations, adults with CF were told they would not live long enough to plan for careers, families, or futures. As treatments improved and life expectancy increased, a new reality emerged:
Adults with CF are living longer, yet meaningful support for building full lives remains scarce.
Medical systems focus on survival. Insurance often lags behind progress. Families face impossible choices about fertility, finances, housing, and daily stability.
Filotimo exists to close that gap.
Our mission is simple and urgent:
To provide direct financial support to adults living with cystic fibrosis and help ensure they can live fully and build the families they choose without barriers imposed by their disease.

Financial Assistance for Adults with Cystic Fibrosis
In 2025, Filotimo served 399 adults living with CF through hardship and health support programs.
We responded to more than 700 requests for help across the country, providing relief where systems fall short.
This support reduces daily burdens so individuals can focus on their health, employment, and long-term stability.
When urgent needs arose, we responded quickly, because no adult with CF should face crisis alone.

IVF and Adoption Grants for Adults with CF
Family building remains one of the most financially complex realities for adults living with cystic fibrosis, particularly for men with CF, where infertility is common.
In 2025:
Through partnerships with Atlantic Fertility, Ivy Fertility, US Fertility, Posterity Health, Terra Health, Columbia Fertility Center, Emory Health, and others, Filotimo now has access to 150+ fertility clinic locations nationwide.
This growing national network ensures coordinated, high-quality care regardless of geography.

Through 50+ hospital partners and 150+ fertility clinic locations, we are building a coordinated system of care that extends beyond any single organization.

The Filotimo Gala: An Acropolis Affair
Our first-ever fundraising gala brought together more than 300 attendees and generated over $1.3 million in critical support for adults living with CF.
The Lung Run
Inspired by Lewis Lovell and Nemanja Savic, who ran four marathons in four days to spotlight cystic fibrosis, The Lung Run united nearly 500 participants nationwide and raised over $58,000 to advance our mission.
These events do more than raise funds, they build awareness that adults with CF are here, living longer, and deserving of full lives.
